FALL CONVENTION INFORMATION

During Convention classes, dancers will immerse themselves in a variety of styles, including hip hop, ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary, ballroom, musical theatre, and more. Be sure to pack everything you’ll need for each style—ballet shoes, tennis shoes, tap shoes, socks,  and any other essential gear. Additional recommended items include a water bottle, warm-up clothes, sweatpants, safety pins, healthy snacks, hair ties, and a water bottle.

Gravit8 proudly supports continued dance education! College dancers receive 25% off convention fees with valid student identification. To receive this discount, a photocopy of a current college ID must be submitted when registering via email. This discount applies to convention fees only and cannot be combined with other offers.

Dancers are required to register for the full convention in order to compete, however, dancers are not required to compete in order to attend convention.

The Mini + Petite Ballroom offers half-day classes on both Saturday and Sunday of the convention. Each studio is asked to designate one representative to help monitor their dancers during these sessions. Please note that only registered studio owners and teachers are permitted in any ballroom during scholarship auditions, including the Mini + Petite Ballroom. Dancers in this ballroom will also have a special performance during the weekend’s Closing Show to showcase all their hard work from the weekend of classes. 

Additionally, parents of Mini + Petite dancers will receive one complimentary observer wristband to enjoy and support their dancer throughout the weekend.

Join your dancer at Gravit8 Conventions and be part of the excitement! Observer Passes should be purchased through your studio. If you are registering as an independent entry, please reach out to us at 602-888-8455 to purchase your Overseer Pass. To ensure a secure and enjoyable experience for everyone, all guests must have a valid Gravit8 Observer Pass. Entry into classes will not be allowed without one. Passes will be sold at the event on a first come basis.

One-day workshop registration is available; however, dancers attending for one day are not eligible for scholarships and are not permitted to compete.

Registered teachers will receive the following: a teacher welcome gift, access to all convention classes, printed competition program, refreshments in the Rejuven8 Lounge, reserved seating during competition & closing show.

Dancers in the Junior, Teen, and Senior age divisions are eligible to be selected by the Faculty to perform in The Lineup. Selections are made through an audition process during the weekend. The Lineup performance will feature multiple genres and be choreographed by the Faculty. Dancers chosen for The Lineup will receive a complimentary t-shirt to be worn for their performance in the weekend Closing Show.
